In 2006, turn out hit the roof. There were people who waited in line for 4 days just to be seen and in my attempt to see all, I over-stretched myself. I worked from 8am to 12 midnight daily for two months, bending to examine people repeatedly and inadvertently ruptured my lumbar disk. Two weeks after my return to the USA, I had spinal surgery [lumbar laminectomy] on February 15 2007. My rehabilitation period lasted 6 months and within this period, I did not work or earn any income. I however depleted my savings since there was no cash in-flow. This is because I work per diem which enables me to travel abroad for up to two months to do my yearly mission without encumbrances. It did not dampen my enthusiasm to return to Africa to continue the mission from December 2007 to February 2008, and also from December 2008 to February 2009.
